Jessica Simpson has had to cancel a slew of public appearances due to a badly-timed case of laryngitis. The Public Affair singers has had to back out of TRL and David Letterman, Matt Lauer announced that her Today Show performance has been rescheduled for Friday. "Jessica has lost her voice on the eve of her album release," Simpson's rep told People mag. "We hope she can recover. The timing could not have been worse." Another source said, "If she does not observe vocal rest, she could lose her voice forever. Her party is [Tuesday] night. If she goes to the party, she won't be able to talk."
