What did you think? I am not a tanner. I have really pale, ghostly white skin, and if I go out without sunblock, I end up with a bright pink burn. I don't think I have been tan in over 10 years. The other day I was trying on clothes and became increasingly distracted by my uber-white legs. Right then and there, I vowed to do something to add a little pigment to my skin.

There are so many gradual tanners on the market...some just moisturize while adding color, others including a firming lotion. I chose Dove because it tends to react well with my skin. According to their directions, their lotion is to be applied daily and then given time to dry. They say that results will be visible within 3 days, will the full effect becoming apparent after a week.

The lotion itself is light and fruity smelling. It applies easily, but does go on a bit wet. It does take some time to dry, so you need to allow yourself a few minutes to apply this lotion. After a few days of use, my pale skin has taken on a healthier, darker appearance. However, it does not look too dark and it has not tinted my skin orange.

I have noticed that areas I don't normally moisturize stick out a bit. I need to take a little more time to make sure I apply the moisturizer to parts of my feet so they don't look so awkwardly white next to my somewhat darker legs.

The final verdict? I'm thrilled with my results so far. This is the closest I have come to tan in ages, and I haven't had to suffer the ill effects of the sun. My skin has darkened, but it is also very touchable and soft. The only change I would make would be to add an SPF to the lotion, but that's just me, the sun-phobe talking. Overall, I'd have to say that Dove Energy Glow is a keeper!

David Hyde Pierce Leaves The Closet

David Hyde Pierce, mainly known as Niles on Frasier, recently publicly "came out" about being gay in a recent article that was posted on CNN.

"He worked at Playwrights Horizons, the Public Theater, Shakespeare in the Park and a lot of regional theaters such as the Guthrie in Minneapolis, Chicago's Goodman and Long Wharf in New Haven, Conn. Pierce got to Los Angeles in the early 1990s when his partner, actor-writer-producer Brian Hargrove, wanted to write for television."

Reportedly, Pierce's sexuality has always been a kept secret within Hollywood, although Pierce never publicly admitted being gay until this story was printed. AfterElton.com contacted Pierce's rep who confirmed that Hargrove is in fact Pierce's life-partner

“I’m in a business that’s completely driven by white males. The majority of writers and directors are men. The woman’s voice really isn’t present in Hollywood.”

This interview is chalk-full of opportunities to bash Jessica, but I'll bypass that and let the irony of the photo of 19 white guys staring at Jessica speak for itself. Damn! Her ass looks phenomenal!

5 Days until Paris Hilton Goes to Jail

Despite entering jail in just five days, it was business as usual for Paris Hilton who arrived at a studio all frocked up for a photo shoot. Earlier that day she struggled to put on a smile as she left her Hollywood home in a hooded jacket and track pants. Her pals, including Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie, say the star is now feeling very anxious about entering prison.
When asked if Hilton was nervous, Richie replied: "Wouldn't you be? Of course she is."



And with good reason. New pictures of the cell that Hilton will share with an inmate have emerged.
The heiress'cellmate has already been chosen - a fellow reckless driver.







We're told: "The prison was trying to pick a cellmate who wouldn't try and cash in on Paris's stay. The woman is already in the cell that Paris will be in. "The prison is also conducting searches of anything electronic and they're banning cameras and mobile phones so nobody can get a grab of Paris doing time." Staff have been warned that anyone taking pictures of Paris will be fired, and a "written protocol" has already been prepared especially for Paris's stay, detailing "when and how things should be done for her".

Nicole's E-Mail Invite was a Joke

Nicole Richie sent friends what she thought was a humorous e-mail invitation to her Memorial Day barbecue – and she can't understand why people don't get the joke.



"Let's glorify this day in your sluttiest tops and your tightest pair of Tsubi jeans, even though we have no clue what Memorial Day really means!!" she wrote. "There will be a scale at the front door. No girls over 100 pounds allowed in. Start starving yourself now. See you all then!!!"



The e-mail was quickly leaked to bloggers, who read it to mean that Richie was making fun of both Memorial Day and her own ongoing weight issues (she said last year she was seeking treatment for what her rep called an inability to put on weight).



But Richie, 25, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Wednesday that she can't understand the fallout: "I mean, it rhymes. Are you really going to take an e-mail that rhymes that seriously? And it's a private e-mail to my friends. I was joking and I don't think there's anything wrong with it."



The e-mail was hardly the biggest newsmaker of the holiday weekend, however: Mischa Barton became sick at Richie's barbecue and was briefly hospitalized for what her rep described as a bad reaction to medication she was taking for bronchitis.



When Seacrest said he'd heard a news report that Barton was rushed to the hospital after mixing alcohol and antibiotics, Richie answered, "I went to Ralph's [grocery store] because I wanted Sunny Delight. So I actually missed the whole thing."

Paula Abdul Likes Pills

Paula has recently given an interview in the new issue of OK! Magazine regarding her "medicated" appearance on several TV appearances. Abdul has mentioned that she has been diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), a neurological disorder that causes intense pain.

"It can come and go at any time, but I no longer have the intense nerve pain that is associated with RSD, thank God," Adbul tells the mag. "I have four titanium plates in my neck. I've had 14 surgeries over the years," "I had an operation the same evening as the first season finale of American Idol."

"If I appear exhausted on television, it's because I am!" she says. "I have a lot of sleepless nights because I'm in so much pain. I was taking far more medication on earlier seasons [of Idol], and nobody said anything. I try to say something and I stumble, and that's what people have picked up on. I'm not polished."

I don't know if "exhausted" is the word I would use to describe her appearance, more like hammered. There's a difference between looking tired and slurring your words so much that not even a drunken homeless man can understand you.

Shiloh’s Big Birthday Bash!

It should come as no surprise that the Jolie-Pitt clan went all out to celebrate Shiloh’s first birthday in Prague. After all, making birthdays special is important to Angelina Jolie, whose late mother Marcheline Bertrand (who died of cancer in January) devoted boundless energy to celebrating her children’s big day. “[She] would spent weeks to plan the right birthday party, and write four drafts to get the right birthday card ready,” Jolie recently told Dateline NBC's Ann Curry.



At the family’s special rental in the Czech Republic capital, where Jolie, 32, is on location shooting the thriller Wanted, the clan gathered on May 27 to celebrate Shiloh’s big day. Jolie had to work that morning, but was home by 2 p.m. to be with her daughter.



“I was contacted by the bodyguards,” Katarina Rozsivalova of Prague’s Balon Servic (a balloon service) tells Us.



“They told me they needed 50 balloons for Saturday and Sunday. An assortment of colors.” Also delivered: cookies and a cake.

I Can't Believe I'm Saying This...

With tonight being the big finale of Shear Genius and despite my earlier post, I have to admit that I kinda got a little hooked on the show! Shear Genius was much better than I had given it credit for, and I found it much more enjoyable than Top Chef or the god awful Top Design. I think I'm still in shock over the fact that Jaclyn Smith is 60. See looks amazing! Oh and don't get me started on the stunningly gorgeous Rene Fris (hi hi!)...wow. He's just great to look at...and that accent? Yum. Anyway, in a Lydia-watches-crappy-TV first, I actually like all three finalists. I didn't mean to do it, but I think I got a little bit hooked on this show. So...are YOU watching Sheer Genius? If so, what do you think?

OMG Paris and Nicole's "The Simple Life" a Fake?

1. "Camp Shawnee" doesn't exist. It was filmed at Camp JCA Shalom in Malibu and if you look at the staff page on the website, ( Click Here ) Ed and Dawn Bellante the supposed owners of the camp are not mentioned. In fact, their names aren't anywhere on the website!



2. Hunter Cross is a former model turned actor when he "got the acting bug and moved to L.A. in January" and then almost instantly "he got the chance to be a counselor on The Simple Life". Click Here.



3. Hunter told the Herald-Mail about his “mutual attraction” with Paris Hilton during “five weeks of shooting.” But the paper says “he does not know whether he will see her once her current legal problems are resolved.” In other words, since they’re not in contact any more, that romance was probably faked, too. 4. PLUS, they had a trailer where they got their hair/make-up done and the "campers" were auditioned for, even if they aren't actors, the producers chose who would get to "go to camp". Click Here.

Britney Gets Toxic in the Toilet

Another night, another LA party girl hits the deck. But seriously, somebody needs to ship Britney back to rehab asap. The Toxic star had to be carried out of the men’s toilets of an exclusive LA hotel bar on Sunday night after she was discovered vomiting uncontrollably. Out of it, she was overheard telling hotel staff: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Things aren’t going well for me at the moment.”





The troubled pop princess, who spent a month in rehab earlier this year, was then carried out of the bar sobbing and covered in sick. It’s not unusual to see Britney out on the town these days, but never in this kind of sorry state. The singer disappeared to the bathroom just an hour after arriving at the Mondrian Hotel’s swanky Sky Bar with five friends. And it wasn’t long before hotel security got a call saying she needed urgent help.



My source said: “Britney was found slumped over the toilet bowl with make-up smeared over her face and her wig hanging off. “She had a room booked at the hotel but was too ill to stay and was begging her bodyguard to take her home. “She looked a real mess and was sitting on the floor with her head over the bowl throwing up. “There was vomit down the front of her black dress and around her mouth.



“Britney was on her knees and must have been sick four or five times. She didn’t really seem with it, but I don’t know if she was drunk or not.” The mother-of-two then had to be helped out of the hotel because she couldn’t stand up by herself. The source added: “It was really sad. Everyone thinks she’s getting back on track after her comeback shows but that’s clearly not the case. I think she needs proper help.”

No Fat Chicks for Nicole

Nicole Richie emailed friends inviting them to a Memorial Day party on Sunday May 28th. The kicker was that the invitation said no girls over 100 lbs. would be admitted.

"There will be a scale at the front door. No girls over 100lbs allowed in. Start starving yourself now. See you all then!!!"

The party was held at "Masha's" house, a nickname for Paris Hilton. Mischa Barton , a guest at the party, collapsed and was hospitalized after
mixing alcohol with antibiotics. Nicole's rep insists that she was kidding in the email.

"This invitation was sent via email to her friends who
understand that she was responding in a joking manner to the constant
untruths printed about her in the media.

I would hate to be a rep for one of these "celebs", you basically have to lie through your teeth day after day, no matter how obvious, just to give your starlet an ounce of saving grace. I'm sure Nicole doesn't have an eating disorder, shes just "naturally" weighs 84 pounds. Maybe she put the 100 lbs limit in the email so that only 12-year-olds 9-year-olds showed up to her party, they would be more her mental speed anyways.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this trend lately, but apparently Matthew McConaughey brushes his teeth 24/7. Matt's a cool guy, but I must admit that this habit is a bit strange. I think he does it so he can have a "fresh" mouth so that when he is done beating off his groupies with a stick, he can make out with the hottest one.

Paris Gets The Axe

A new photo book called "Inheriting Beauty" is set to be released by celebrity photographer Roger Moenks. The book will feature pictures of the world's most beautiful heiresses including Allegra Hicks, Nadja Swarovski and Casey Johnson. Paris Hilton was meant to be included in the book too, but her entrance was denied by a "unanimous vote" among Moenks and his editors. Moenks' agent Marianne Strong had this to say:

"She's tried to play society like a game of Three-card Monte. Let's hear it for high standards."

This is a really good call by Moenks to not put Paris in the book. Having her in there would give the overall book a feeling of.....trash. In fact, maybe instead of using Paris' photo in the book, they could simply replace it with a picture of a trash bag with a large bow-tie on it, and make it all artsy-style. That would be better than a picture of Paris. What I really wanna know is will Nicky Hilton make the book? That would be a kick in the face to Paris.

After three months of dating, Hollywood's most low-key couple is still going strong! Reese Witherspoon, 31, and Jake Gyllenhaal, 26, who met last summer on the set of Rendition, had a rendezvous following a May 25 visit to a doctor’s office in Culver City, California.



After the appointment, the pair hopped into separate cars and headed to Witherspoon’s house. “Jake put his hand out of the sunroof and was waving, “says an eyewitness. “They looked totally in love.”



That’s the impression he’s giving pals: “Jake said he’s found someone who knows how to look out for both of them, and not just themselves,” a Gyllenhaal source tells Us. “Reese is more attentive than anyone else he knows.”

According to a recent issue of OK!, Britney is pretty happy that Paris Hilton is going to jail!



Britney Spears wants the heiress to pay in prison. Don’t expect Britney Spears to sign a “Free Paris” petition anytime soon, as the pop star is now gloating over former pal Paris Hilton’s jail sentence. And one insider tells OK! that Brit couldn’t be happier she ended her friendship with the Simple Life star. “Britney is relieved to have distanced herself from her ex-party buddy,” the source says. “Rest assured - you won’t see Britney speaking to Paris through the glass petition in the jail on visiting day…”



[Britney] “blames Paris for a lot of her image problems that she had before rehab,” the insider confides. “Britney is happy to be living clean and sober, far away from Paris’ mess. She’s also glad that the attention of making mistakes is now on somebody else.”

Debra Messing Takes A Break From Shooting

Debra Messing was spotted in Soho this past weekend taking a break from filming "The Starter Wife," a miniseries which premieres on USA this Thursday. Debra recounts her filming as quite different from Will & Grace:

"In The Starter Wife we shot it like a film, we shot it out of order, it was 4 months, 6 hours worth of film, so there was the luxury of time to tell the story. So I think the comedy comes out of character more and there is more of a balance between the drama and the comedy."
