Focus on: Handbags---XOXO

Loooooong time ago I mentioned that once in a while I would blog about fashion. Problem is I am not that into the latest trends about clothes or accessories, I just go buy what I like and can afford of course. I'm not saying I don't look at the modern and chic things designers have to offer, but I confess I am not waiting to see what's IN on each season.

That said, I have to say I love handbags. I think handbags are a great and simple way to accessorize your outfit (I hope that's the correct expression). You can add a cool touch to your whole look...or completely ruin it (I've seen pictures....OMG).

And I am thinking about handbags right now because I need to change mine, I have had the same ones for years! They are lovely but enough is enough.

XOXO handbags are so lovely. They are so pretty and modern and girly and...I don't have a single one. Boo!

I like mostly the hobo style, but one thing I like about XOXO is that I love most of their handbags in any style. They are good quality and the price is about right for me. Soooooooooooo, let's see if Santa or the Three Kings are kind to me...LOL. Well, if not I can still hope to get one for Mother's Day?

Blog is up and running!

Just to let you know Google removed the warning tags and messages. Yeys!

OMG! My site has been attacked!

Sorry people, but it seems that my blog has been attacked. If you try to access my blog using Mozilla Firefox you will get a warning message "Reported Attack Site!" I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have removed the chat box, the only "suspicious" thing Google could find, but I still get this warning. I requested a review of the website by Google to see if there any more malicious software.

THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!!

This not only attacks my work but my credibility. I'm so tempted to delete everything and forget about this. But it hurts, because I love blogging! I don't know what to do. =(

Quote of the Day

"My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch. When this is all over, that's where I'll be. I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen," - model Miranda Kerr in this week's issue of Page Six Magazine.

MAC's Emote Blush

I bought one of the Emote Blushes the gorgeous Tammy at Diva4Less was selling on her blog at a great price (go there!) and OMG I love it. I wanted it after I saw Tammy wearing it. Since she and I have pretty similar skin tones I thought it would work for me...and it does!. For me it is THE perfect contour blush.

Tammy girl, thanks for offering to go buy it at your CCO and sending it so promptly, oh and for the samples! You are really great.

Swatches!

Taking Time to Toot My Own Horn

I'll be back with beauty news in no time, but I just wanted to report that I am an official NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) winner!

I did it!

This month, I entered into the seemingly daunting task of writing a 50,000 word novel between November 1st and November 30th.

Well, after about 23+ days of writing, I crossed over the 50,000 word level, thereby making me an official NaNoWriMo winner. As of this blog entry's writing, I have written over 57,200 words and still have about 20K+ to go to finish my novel.

All this while moving at work AND keeping Kiss-and-Makeup as up-to-date as I could. I don't think I slacked off on my blogging responsibilities too much. But now that I am winding down my novel, I should be able to get back on the blogging habit soon.

Like I said, I'll have beauty tips up for you in no time (tune back in on Thursday for Black Friday shopping tips!), but I just wanted to take a moment to relish in my victory. Yay me!

On His Way to Dance

Quenching his thirst with a Coke Aluminum bottle, Lance Bass was spotted on his way to Dancing with the Stars rehearsal Sunday afternoon in L.A. Bass is the one to watch on tonight's Dancing finale! Make sure to tune in and see if he becomes this season's champion!

Go Green, Get Gorgeous!

We all want to look our best and use amazing products that help us achieve the perfect look. But we also want to use products that don't contain harsh chemicals and other yucky ingredients, and we want our products to be as eco-friendly as possible.

If you're looking to give eco-friendly beauty gifts to your friends and family this holiday season, here are a couple product lines to check out:

ALIMA PURE MINERAL MAKEUP
Mineral makeup is all the rage. Alima Pure's mineral makeup is made from 100% certified natural products. They even carry the European BDIH “Certified Natural Cosmetics” seal which guarantees that it’s safe for both the body and the environment.

Be sure to check out their vintage-inspired holiday line for some Silver Screen glam this gift-giving season. They have two sets for the holidays (shown above):
  • Act 1: four lovely eyeshadows that are all coordinated to help you (or your lucky recipient) achieve a chic smoky eye
  • Act 2: three stunning shades that sculpt your cheeks, giving you highlighting and color in all the right places.
Both holiday sets cost $25 each, with $2 of the sales going to the Global Fund for Women. Nice!

ecoTOOLS
ecoTOOLS are great! They make high quality makeup brushes that are environmentally friendly. The brushes are made from animal-free taklon bristles (made from soft and pliable synthetic hair, with the metallic ferrule made from recycled aluminum cans.) They're also housed in reusable pouches and printed with plant-based ink, utilizing resources that minimize the negative impact on the environment. And they'll help you save a little green (as in cash) this holiday season since ecoTOOLS are extremely reasonably priced and they're available at your local Wal-Greens, Kmart, or Ulta.

Check out a few of their new products like:
  • Retractable Kabuki Brush ($7.99), which is perfect for applying face powder or bronzer. It also features a sleek retractable case made of recycled aluminum.
  • 5 Piece Brush Set ($9.99) is not only a good stocking stuffer but it’s perfect for travel. The set comes with a mineral powder brush, concealer brush, eye shading brush, baby kabuki brush and hemp and linen cosmetic bag. This set is the way to go when you are in a hurry and need something quick and easy to throw in your bag.
My sister-in-law is trying out the retractable Kabuki brush for me and she loves the brush's softness and compact design. I could always use more tools--these are great stocking stuffers!

Maxwell Live '08 Tour Finale After Party Presented by Hennessy

Cedric the Entertainer, Maxwell, Anthony Anderson

Yesterday marked the finale of the Maxwell Live Tour '08 and NYC's Bowery Hotel was abuzz with celebration for the oh-so-talented singer. From New York and L.A. to Dallas and Memphis, Maxwell returned to the Big Apple for his finale concert. This was the first tour in six years for the five-time Grammy winner. Sponsored by Hennessy, the cocktail party featured great music, great drinks, and a great crowd.

Jennifer Esposito

Dancing, mingling and fun was had by all including Anthony Anderson, Cedric the Entertainer, Samantho Who's Jennifer Esposito, Zoe Kravitz, and model Liya Kebede. While Anthony and Cedric played pool, Jennifer danced along to Kanye West's "American Boy", Zoe and Liya mingled with friends, and the man of the evening Maxwell, surrounded by family, smiled and graciously thanked people for coming. What a great evening!

Get Natural At CVS

Damn! I've said it before and I'll say it again: I soooo wish we had CVS/Pharmacy out here in Washington state. I keep hearing about fun, exciting new products that are exclusive to CVS and I'm jealous that I can't check them out!

A new line of products is launching at CVS that I'm currently trying out called Vickery & Clarke Natural Apothecary. So far, I'm liking what I'm trying.

Vickery & Clarke Natural Apothecary products have an old-fashion meets the modern day feel. Their products provide benefits to both the skin and the senses and they have items to meet the needs of your face, lips, eyes, and body. They also have some products that will help cure what ails you! Vickery & Clarke Natural Apothecary products are more than 94% natural and contain no harmful ingredients. The key ingredients, such as Lavender and Peppermint, are good for your skin good for the earth. And their product are all under $12, so they're easy on the budget, too!

Here are a few products to check out:
  • Vickery & Clarke Foot and Leg Spray: If you spend your days on your feet at work, or if you're out and about shopping for the holidays, your legs and feet may need a quick pick-me-up. A few quick sprays of this will stimulate your skin and make your legs and feet feel more alive.
  • Vickery & Clarke Ultra Rich Eye Cream: I've been using this undereye treatment for the past few days. It's very thick and rich, but it feels so good going on and it really seems to moisturize the eye area.
  • Vickery & Clarke Detox Bath Soak: These bath salts contain ginger, an old folk remedy that will stimulate circulation and help you sweat out any nasty impurities. Perfect for the holidays!
Head over to CVS to check out this line of products! They're beautiful and good for you and would make for great stocking stuffers this year.

College trips with MOB

Saturday, November 21st Fashion,Saddity and Stylin' visited Stony Brook and Old Westbury. We started off our day at 6:45AM, taking the LIRR to Stony Brook. This is how it went...

When we arrived there (1hr and 20mins later) it was brick city outside, in other words it was really cold. We toured the campus, ask question about there majors, then we had lunch in the WANG hall.. then we ate this

Then we called up a friend(Courtney) who attends Old Westbury. It was sooo cold when arrived there, but no worries we went staright to his dorm. His dorm was filled with posters, stickers and flyers from The Wagon Boutique.

TheWagon Boutique
Brooklyn, NY
1214 Union Street Bet. Nostrand & Rogers Phone: 347-627-3600

Also ask females about the college life viewed their dorms. (We liked it more than Stony Brook couped up dorms). Then we went to a Basketball game, in which Old Westbury Panthers won.Overall the MOB liked...loves Old Westbury way better than Stony Brook. ( Smaller class size, better student life, and greater percentage in blacks)

THE END
