Estee Lauder University: Lesson 7

Happy weekend! It's been a busy Saturday for me, one full of errands and devoid of makeup. While I'm waiting for my dryer to finish and while I'm watching the NHL playoffs (ice hockey and baseball are the only two sports I can tolerate), I thought I'd do the final Estee Lauder beauty myth vs. reality.

Myth #7: You should match your eyeshadow to your outfit.

Reality according to Estee Lauder: False! There are no rules when it comes to eyeshadow, and since there are so many great colors and products out there, it makes no sense to limit yourself to matching what you're wearing.

Reality according to Lydia: Matching your eyeshadow to your outfit? What? Why would anyone think that would be okay? No, no, no! Instead, you should consider using eyeshadow to bring out your eye color, not your blouse. And it IS fun to play with different colors and trends. I just can't see matching your eye makeup to your clothes--I've never heard that before, and I don't think people actually follow this "rule".
