Beauty Product of the Week: No Chip 10 Day Nail Color

What is it? Sally Hansen's No Chip 10 Day Nail Color claims to offer up to 10 days of chip-free nails. Available in 23 colors for less than $5 at places like WalGreens, Ulta, etc.

What did you think? Ulta had a huge display for this product, and since I am sick to death of dark nails, I was in the market for a lighter, more natural color. Instead of forking out $7.50+ for OPI nail lacquer, I decided to give drug store fave Sally Hansen a try and snatched up a bottle of their chip-free polish in Surely Ivory--a soft, pinky-neutral color.

I applied the nail polish the way Sally Hansen suggested--2 to 3 coats, no base coat, no top coat. Now, I am not the world's most best manicurist (I'm far from it!), but it seemed that this particular nail polish was very runny and hard to apply. The brush was too small to get a nice, solid swipe of color and I just seemed to have difficulty getting my manicure done neatly.

Hoping for 10 days of chip-free color, I was very disappointed. By day 4, I had noticeable chips on at least two of my nails. By day 5, I found myself picking and peeling away my nail polish. Today is day 9, and not one of my nails looks decent or chip-free. In fact 4 of my nails are completely bare, and 3 have only half of their polish on. My manicure is looking really shabby.

The final verdict? Pass on this product. It does not live up to its 10 day promise, is hard to apply, and is a complete and total disappointment. Spring for the $7.50 OPI instead...trust me on this.
