Now for today's beauty myth vs. reality from Estee Lauder:Myth #3: Pumping mascara gets more out of the brush.
Reality according to Estee Lauder: False! People think that by plunging the mascara wand in the bottle several times, they'll end up with more product. Reality according to Lydia: Duh--of course this is a bad idea! Along with getting air in the tube, you'll be more likely to end up with gunky, chunky globs of tarry mascara on your lashes--never good. The more crapped up your brush is, the more stuck together your lashes will be.
It's important to replace your mascara every 3 months or so since fresher mascara just seems to work better. To get killer looking lashes, it's also a good idea to curl them before applying mascara, and to brush them to separate any chunks that may develop.
