Estee Lauder University: Lesson 3

I just spent several hours shopping for springtime clothes and man, let me tell you, shopping can be exhausting! I managed to buy a few things and somehow stayed far away from Sephora--my wallet is thanking me for that! Now for today's beauty myth vs. reality from Estee Lauder:

Myth #3: Pumping mascara gets more out of the brush.

Reality according to Estee Lauder: False! People think that by plunging the mascara wand in the bottle several times, they'll end up with more product. What's actually happening is that you're forcing air into the bottle, thereby drying out the product. For more on mascara from Estee Lauder, click here.

Reality according to Lydia: Duh--of course this is a bad idea! Along with getting air in the tube, you'll be more likely to end up with gunky, chunky globs of tarry mascara on your lashes--never good. The more crapped up your brush is, the more stuck together your lashes will be.

It's important to replace your mascara every 3 months or so since fresher mascara just seems to work better. To get killer looking lashes, it's also a good idea to curl them before applying mascara, and to brush them to separate any chunks that may develop.
