I received an interesting email from one of my fellow bloggers with a link to Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database that tells you how safe your cosmetics products are (or aren't!). They have a searchable database that lists hundreds of beauty products and rates them as being either low hazard, moderate hazard, or high hazard. This site also tells you if a company conducts animal testing or has signed their Compact for Safe Cosmetics.
I did a quick search on two of my favorite products, Maybelline Great Lash mascara and DuWop Lip Venom. Here's what I learned about each product:
