School is back in session, the days are getting shorter, and there is a slight crispness to the evening air. Now that Labor Day is history, summer is fading into fall. Yay!
Just because it's getting cooler and less summery in most parts of the country doesn't mean you can put away all your sun protection. You still need to worry about damage from exposure to the sun, no matter what month it is.
I'm a big fan of double duty products, like moisturizers and foundations that contain SPF. It seems like a lot SPF-only products are greasy and not a good substitute for a daily moisturizer. But now, Lynn Ross, a well-known and respected esthetician, has created a line of skin care products called Institut'DERMed and they've put out an oil-free sun block called Sun Protective Cream Oil Free SPF 28.
Unlike most sun blocks, this one is actually designed for people with normal to oily skin and offers non-comodogenic sun protection with aloe vera gel to soothe and heal troubled skin. Not only does it moisturize skin, but it will protect it from discoloration and premature aging that are the result of too much sun exposure.
This product will set you back about $32, but finding a non-greasy sun block for your face can be a challenge....this may be money well spent. Go to www.idermed.com for ordering information. And don't forget to review the sun protection advice, above. Yes, it's common sense, but it's still good to be reminded about what you should be doing from time to time!
