Jennifer Aniston on Botox and Diets

"I could do it, and I mean these lines are getting deeper every day, but when I tell you what's happened to me - these lines are just about living. Look, I eat really well and I work out, but I also indulge when I want to. I don't starve myself in an extremist way. You're not taking away my coffee or my dairy or my glass of wine because I'd be devastated." - Jennifer Aniston on why she won't get Botox and dieting in British Harper's Bazaar.

G-Shock's Hyper Colors.

And G-shock just doesn't stop. It's now finally the season of bright, eye-catching colors and G-shock has hit you with just that. The Hyper colors are in the latest range of watches to be released just in time for the warm weather! I feel as if they'll compliment the springy outfits to come! I personally thought the G-Shock phase was done but you'll sure catch M.O.B. with one of these! :-)

Wiz Khalifa vs. Big Sean

This is a little different from what you will normally see on our blog, but hey! A few months back we introduce you to Big Sean from "D Town,West Side!"(Detroit,Michigan). This young rapper was found by Kanye West and was then signed to Island Def Jam and is now sign to Good Music. A few weeks back my fellow bitch, Fashion introduce me to Wiz Khalifa, this youngin' from Pittsburg, Penn. He's sign to Warner Bros. Record label. Both of these males were featured on XXL Magazine two months ago for the Freshman 10. Their mixtapes were also good " UKNOWBIGSEAN" - Big Sean and "Deal or No Deal"- Wiz Khalifa but which one was better. Well both of these young rappers are good friends and also freestyles/rapped on the same beat, but who am I to judge. But in my opinion I favor Big Sean. Don't get me wrong I'd listen to a good Wiz song such as this freestyle is my favorite.

But my favorite song by Big Sean is Desire, Want, Need. I think a lot of my friends and I can relate to this song.

G-Shock Crazy

Play Cloth sure is teasing us with just showing us the box huh Lol.Well the red watch comes nicely packaged in a red box with black/white stripe design and custom branding.

Best of Both Worlds

*Gasp* That's what I did when I took a glance at this cover of Trey Songz on VIBE Magazine. Trey looks sexy, scary, hot, and handsome all at the same time. This is a two sided over also featuring Young Jeezy, and also features articles on Eyrka Badu, Buju Banton, Usher and more. Make sure you get that when it hits the stands.

"Back in the day when I was young I'm not a kid any more, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again"
-Ahmad
For some reason while looking at these pictures of Trey Songz ( featured on Complex Magazine) that quote from Ahmad popped up in my head. This shoot looks like Mr. Songz did a lot of growing up since his past album "READY." Trey takes it back to era of rhythm and blues, when record labels were perfectly dressed-downed and spiffy just as their record labels.

Hippety Hoppity...

Apparently Easter is this weekend. I say apparently because I never seem to remember when Easter pops up on the calendar. I only know that I keep seeing plastic eggs and crazy bunnies in all the stores I've been going to lately.

If you're like me, you'd rather skip the Easter egg hunt and opt instead to fill up your own brand of basket--a Sephora basket--with some Spring-inspired goodies. Bunny-hop to Sephora and treat yourself to these wonders:

Spotlight on <i>The Last Song</i>'s Liam Hemsworth

I'm excited to see The Last Song. I'm a big fan of Nicholas Sparks, Miley Cyrus, and Liam Hemsworth. In fact, I'll admit that I'm mainly psyched about Liam Hemsworth. This break-out-star is about to be a sensation. He's gorgeous, talented, and quite a hit with the young ladies. Check him out in The Last Song in theaters tomorrow.

Bad Hair Days: We ALL Have 'Em

Hmmm....THIS Explains It All!

Holy cow. I know that April is fast approaching, but judging from the weather lately, I can't tell if it's Spring, Winter, or Fall. I know for a fact that it's not summer...sadly.

Yesterday was a dozy. Not only was it a Monday, but I had to work late AND we had a rainy/windy/whacky weather day to boot. Add to this combination the fact that I am growing my hair out and have official hit the awkward stage and WHAM! I had the worst hair day in recent memory.

It happens to all of us from time to time, but when you're trying to grow out your locks, it seems as though bad hair days are more frequent and more severe. For me a bad hair day means one side of my hair is curling up, the other side curling down, and everything in between has decided to curl, wave, or part incorrectly. Oh, and my roots are showing and my next hair appointment isn't for weeks.

So I ask you this: How do YOU deal with bad hair days? Do you opt for a hat? A pony tail? Say to hell with it and let your hair do it's own thing (that's my approach)? Or do you do something else entirely? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, because dealing with bad hair can really put you in a bad mood! Please leave me a comment and let me know your strategy for coping when bad hair happens to good people!

Shear Genius Recap: Everyone's Safe

Before

After: The higher the hair the closer to God

Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend and are well rested, because it's going to be a busy week here on my site. Be sure to come back tomorrow for more. Until then, let's get this week rolling with a Shear Genius recap!

Recap of Show
For this week’s shortcut challenge, the stylists walked into the salon to discover a mysterious large object shrouded by a black tarp. After Camila introduced guest judge and celebrity stylist Mark Townsend, she threw back the tarp to reveal a bookcase divided into three categories – styling tools, a technique, and an inspiration – with subcategories ranging from flat irons and sponge rollers to pin curls and braids.

Each of the stylists selected a numbered scissor box and then was instructed to pick a combination of the categories for the competitor standing to their left. Brig was able to choose for Janine—and choose she did, leaving Janine to create a rainbow-inspired mullet using a crimping iron. After all of the stylists were left with their respective tools and directions, Camila introduced them to their second guest judge Allure Editor-In-Chief Linda Wells.

Brig, as always, took on too much, attempting a cut, a color and a hairstyle that had to incorporate pin curls, sponge rollers and a Parisian theme. Unfortunately, her finished look under-whelmed the judges and left her at the bottom of the bunch. While Brig was being critiqued for her brassy color, Janine couldn’t help but comment about Brig’s lack of respect for the judges. She then went on to admonish Brig for her unprofessional attitude--all while spouting out profanities (because Janine's a professional and Brig, obviously, is not).

See what I said about Janine last week? She's a mean girl. I swear in her little "Brig sucks and shouldn't be here with the likes of PROFESSIONALS like me" you could have swapped out the work "professional" and replaced it with "mature" to make it a full-on high school hissy fit. Remember 10th grade? "Oh I hate Kara so much. She's just not MATURE like me!" Good times.

Anyhoo....Neither competitor seemed to win the battle, but both managed to stun the judges with their loathing of one another. In the end, it was the gorgeous shape and striking texture of Jon’s curly disco ball-inspired bob with bangs that won the challenge and an advantage at elimination.

The next day, everyone headed to the elimination challenge, which was also their first editorial shoot. Under the watchful eye of Linda Wells and Orlando Pita, Camila announced that the stylists would be given the opportunity to update some of the most memorable hairstyles in American cinema in a “Modernize Hollywood Icons” challenge. The looks were: Gwyneth Paltrow's romantic curls from “Shakespeare In Love,” Dolly Parton's buxom bouffant in “The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas,” Audrey Hepburn's classic updo from “Charade” and Bo Derek's braids from the movie “10.”

After seeing the stylists work on set and reviewing their final photographs, the judges seemed to really struggle to find someone to send home, since each one managed deliver in the challenge. In the end, Matthew and Janine went to the winner’s circle, with Matthew taking top honors for his Dolly Parton-inspired look. Not only was he able to seamlessly update Dolly’s classic style with soft and natural looking curls, but he was also able to work well with the photographer on set. The judges ramped up the tension even more by asking Brig and Jon to defend themselves from the chopping block. Jon reluctantly admitted that he believed his work was superior to Brig’s, and, in a shocking twist, Brig agreed that her head of hair wasn’t her proudest work and that she should go home. Taking everything into consideration, the judges then delivered a stunning reprieve to both Jon and Brig: no one would be going home this week – it was just too close to call, though I'd send Janine home for being an awful human being. Sadly, though, I think Mean Girl might just win the whole shebang.

This week’s “how to get the look” from Kevin
Try modernizing a classic siren’s style to create your own film-worthy look.
  • Apply a heat protecting styler, such as Nexxus Thermal Volume, to damp hair, and then blow-dry using a large round brush.
  • While hair is still warm, wrap two inch sections around extra-large Velcro rollers to help build volume.
  • Once hair is cool to the touch, remove rollers and use a boar bristle brush to loosen curls and shape the style.
  • Spray hair with a strong-hold hairspray, like Nexxus Maxximum, to hold the structure of the style in place.

It's hot out there! Summer foundation combo #1

Hi guys! I finally have some time to post a new article.  So it may be officially "Spring" but down here we are having a very "Summer" weather. The beginning of March was extremely hot with 90ºF + temps. Luckily, these past few days the temperature has gone down to 85º-88ºF during the day. What does this all means? It is almost impossible to wear makeup! I mean, who would want to? Well, I have to if I want my skin to at least look even. And I have to look presentable if I'm meeting a client.

A few weeks ago I had to go with a client to inspect an old building (decades ago it was a mental facility for convicts--creepy) and I knew we had to walk for a long time and that I was gonna sweat like crazy.  Indeed it happened, but I was glad my makeup stayed almost intact.  When I went home, I was glad to see I still had coverage left and no mascara smudging or eyeshadow creasing!

I wanted my skin to look hydrated.  I added 2 drops of sweet almond oil and 2 drops of avocado oil to my moisturizer. You'll think "What? She has combo/oily skin!" Well, thing is my cheeks and the area under my eyes can get really dry and these oils left my skin feeling super soft and moisturized. After a few minutes, I added my sunscreen all over my face and then a small amount of primer just in the T-Zone (and a bit on the cheeks).

NOTE: if you have super oily skin, consider if you really need to use the primer on a hot day; sometimes sunscreen creams or lotions make good primers.

Now for foundation, well, I honestly can't wear powder foundation thinking it will last long on hot weather while looking great, not even my Studio Fix Powder +.  I need something that makes my skin looks hydrated and provides long lasting coverage.

So yeah, I use a very small amount of my always faithful Revlon Colorstay Makeup (for combo/oily skin) but I mix it with MAC's Strobe Liquid (you do know the Strobe Liquid Lotion has moisturizing properties, right?) Not only does the Strobe Lotion makes the Colorstay feel more light (while retaining its staying power) but since it has iridescent particles, it provides a healthy glow (not shine!) to my skin.  I must indicate I used a very small amount of foundation; I applied with the MAC 187 and blend like crazy.  I did not wanted to have lots of foundation on my face.  The coverage wasn't as full as I wanted but nothing my concealer couldn't deal with.  I wanted to be presentable, not perfect.

NOTE: If you have dry skin, consider using the Colorstay Makeup for Dry Skin, it doesn't has alcohol as the Combo/Oily skin formula.

NOTE: The reason I'm recommending the Colorstay Makeup is because it is the only one I have found that lasts through the whole day without totally fading or transferring to clothes.  Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup is also a good alternative.

I then used both cream and powder blush. I applied a matte powder with a cosmetic puff as setting powder (LOVING the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, seriously; I've been using it almost everyday since I got it a few weeks ago).  I used matte powder because I knew I was going to sweat and I wanted my skin to look healthy and glowy after a few hours, not shiny.

For the eyes, I just made sure to use two good primers + cream shadow: TFSI, Concealer and a MAC Paint Pot.

TIP: If during the day you feel you skin a little dry, keep in your purse a hydrating mist like MAC Fix+ Spray so you can use it at any time, I love it; If on the other hand you are all oily, Blotting paper is a MUST!. Do not keep using powder on top of your oily face. Blot first!

Here's a complete list of what I used:

FACE
Primer--Walgreens Sunscreen all over face and Smashbox Photofinish on T-zone
Foundation--Revlon ColorStay in True Beige mixed with a small amount of MAC Strobe Liquid
Concealer--Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer, #10 on blemishes and some dark spots
Blush--MAC Sweet William CremeBlush and Hello Kitty Tippy Blush on top (applied very lightly)
Setting Powder--Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Beige (Medium 2-2.5) --This stuff ROCKS!
Setting Spray--MAC Fix+ Spray (awesome!)

EYES
Primer--TFSI, Makeup For Ever Full Coverage Concealer #10 and MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Eyeshadow--none, just the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder on top of primers
Eyebrows--MAC Eye Brow Pencil in Stud
Mascara--Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara in Glam Black

Island Wedding Dresses

Island Wedding Dresses
A wedding on a tropical island invokes images of sand, surf, and rolling waves. A gentle breeze and shimmering sunshine the bride who awaits her island wedding, in her beautiful island wedding dress.

Island wedding dress fabrics
Island wedding dresses are more an idea or a feeling than style per se. several aspects must be respected for the bride to feel comfortable at the beach during an island wedding. One of these is the trade winds, which are breezy and light. To be capable of using these trade winds in a bride's favor, fabrics that are light weight are best, such as georgette, linen, charmeuse, gauze, satin, cotton, silk, and chiffon. The advantage to these fabrics is their easy mobility; to limit the amount of sticking or clinging a fabric may have against a bride's skin, in the hot weather.

This means the bride's wedding dress will have to be packed, therefore a dress that irons well or less likely to crease is a safe bet. In keeping with an island wedding theme, sarongs, tea length dresses, or short wedding dresses lend themselves really well. A train that is extended is not advisable when the wedding location is outdoors, but a shorter version is acceptable.

Colored Island wedding dress or colored detailing
Tropical island statements are made by colored wedding dresses, as opposed to the more conventional white or ivory, which are still very good color choices for island Island Wedding Dresseswedding dresses. Color adds character and island charm is infused into the ceremony, and as such any color can work well with an island setting wedding. For those brides who prefer otherwise, a few details of the wedding details can be in color, such as appliqués, embroidery, some piping, or sash, can be in color. This finer detailing will hint at color, without overwhelming the senses.

As a tribute to the stunningly beautiful nature of island weddings, quite a number of the well respected designers in the wedding dress industry have entire lines of island wedding dresses. The style of dress can range from spaghetti straps, strapless, and halter necks, to A-line, empire waist, cut out low back, and full skirts.

Island wedding dress accessories
Island wedding dresses have to be paired with the appropriate footwear, as traditional pumps are not practical in sand. As a consequence, sandals, which are elegant and simple, will work well with wedding gowns. One strap sandals are particularly recommended. Flip-flops, adorned with flowers that are hand painted, jewels, or shells are a popular choice of island wedding dress footwear, as are barefoot sandals. These are jewelry that embellishes the top of a bride's feet, at the same time leave the soles of her feet bare. Adornments may include flowers, rhinestones, and pearls.
Island Wedding Dresses
Jewelry should be kept simple, as a simple rule. A lone gold chain, pearl earrings, is normally adequate. Fans, be they of straw or white elegant paper, can also adorn an island wedding bride, as well as parasols can. Brides retain a feminine look with parasols draped off the shoulders. A hair ornament will add romance to any island wedding, with a tiara, jeweled comb, or flowers completing the ensemble.

Country Wedding Dresses

Wedding dresses are considered to be one of the centerpiece items in a wedding ceremony. This is because a wedding dress on top of all makes a bride standout among the crowd due to its elegant and breathtaking design. Asides from this, wedding dresses also have a deeper meaning with regards to marriage as these have been symbolizing the bride ever since.
Country Wedding Dresses
Country Wedding Dresses
The beauty of wedding dresses resides in how it is able to represent the bride in a unique manner during the wedding ceremony. It also adds up to the stunning factor that occurs when the bride is first seen walking down the isle. This is the reason why a wedding dress is highly prioritized in a wedding arrangement checklist.

Generally speaking, the modern world has been used to the white wedding dress which comes from the Western cultures of European countries. However, there are a lot of other cultures that have different variations of wedding dresses in areas like color, design and pattern. These traditional versions of a wedding dress are also as beautiful as the accustomed white bridal dress and at times more interesting since these are not really seen that often.
Country Wedding Dresses
In the old Western cultures, marriages during and subsequent the medieval era meant more than just a union between a man and a woman. This was due to the fact that they could also be considered as a union between companies, families, businesses or even countries. A lot of weddings during this time were more of a matter of politics especially for the nobles and higher echelon of the society. This has greatly affected the way wedding dresses were made and worn depending on your social status. Usually, Brides coming from the wealthy families wore bridal gowns of exclusive fabrics and rich colors.

Through the years, brides from wealthy families dressed in a manner that reflected their social status, having the highest form of fashion available combined with the most expensive materials that money could buy. On the other hand, the poorest brides wore the best church clothes that they could find on their wedding day.
Country Wedding Dresses
Nowadays, there are a lot of choices for wedding gowns since there are different price ranges. There has also been a variety of lengths and colors available since the Western traditions have loosened up. Women can now also have the option to either buy ready made gowns, have a dressmaker create one or wear a family heirloom. Also, the bridal salons today already present samples of the wedding gowns when you visit their store. Because of this you can already select a design that suits your tastes right then and there and just have it customized to fit your size.

For the Asian countries having Eastern culture such as Vietnam, China and India, the traditional bridal dresses are very much affected by the cultural beliefs of the people. The Ao dai which is the traditional bridal dress for Vietnamese women is a perfect example. It is usually in red color which signifies prosperity and good luck for the Vietnamese. The other mentioned countries also share the same line of thinking with regards to the color of their traditional bridal dresses.

However, more women today choose not to follow suit with the customs and traditions of their country or culture since people have a more liberated mindset as compared to before. Instead, they go for customized wedding gowns which will give them a unique appearance as well as represent their own personalities.

Beauty Product of the Week: Oxygen Infusion Masque

What is it? Sue Devitt's Microquatic Oxygen Infusion Masque is "a purifying masque that offers a dual result. Through self-foaming activation, oxygen molecules are released into pores then gently cleanse and remove impurities and environmental pollutants. Skin appears firmer, softer and healthy-looking. The unique infusion of Microquatic Complex hydrates while Blue Algae, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein and Chamomile Extract reduce redness and irritation, help control sebum production and soothe the skin." Available at drugstore.com and Ulta for $40.

What did you think? The first thing you notice about this product is its bright blue hue. And I must admit that I am not a big fan of the way this product looks. But looks don't really matter, because overall, I really like this Oxygen Infusion Masque.

The product feels good on my face. It foams up a bit and it feels like it's working hard to clean out my pores. And though it leaves my face feeling tingly and clean, I don't feel like it's harsh or that it stripped out too much of my face's good oils. I also really, really like the way this product smells--it's clean, light, and fresh, and I was thinking that the scent is so nice, Sue Devitt should bottle it and sell it as a perfume!

The final verdict? Though I was sent this product for free to try out, I would definitely buy it with my own money. It makes my skin feel clean, look good and feel good. What else could you want in a skin care product?

Bad B%&$H Award Goes To

“The song is called ‘Massive Attack,’ ” she explained. “I’m excited for people to hear me … doing more than one verse. It’s really creative. Shout-out to [songwriter] Sean Garrett. I’ve always loved his style. He really kinda had a great idea of what I wanted to do. I wanted to be theatrical, but I am very serous about what I do. He was able to mesh that together and have a really fun but direct record, if that makes sense. … This video, it’s just, like, monsta. The video is a monsta."
